Description

This image is a section of emission nebula RCW 27 (aka Gum 14) that my gear's fov is able to capture, the main feature is the reflection nebula NGC 2626 on the right edge, the eruptive variable star HD 73882 in the centre, a major contributor to the ionisation of RCW 27 and a pulsating variable star HD 73588 somewhat between the two. The region is mostly HII. I found this an interesting section to capture as it contains many types of objects, emission, dark and reflection nebulae, open clusters and planetary nebulae as well. The nebula is approximately 800 light-years away in the northwestern side of the Constellation Vela near its limit with Puppis.
